Elijah was 1 day shy of 3 weeks old for his newborn session. I found him especially amazing to watch as he moves seamlessly from the calm, soothing, peaceful and controlled arms of his parents to the lively, colorful, roughhousing world of his three big brothers.![]()

He is a doll. I too love the one where the train is in the distance…..I might use that idea here in Missouri w/ my boy who loves trains.
Makes me cry. This is such a beautiful photo. It’s art!! I love it. I can’t see little Levi’s lips because of white strip over the photo. He looks like a sweet baby for sure.

Oh my gosh, that last one is too precious!
oh i love them! wow mom looks great after only having a kid a week ago! totally want to pick your brain on your M.O. for newborn pix. i’m always worried about them being cold.
Six days old and out with the girls! Sweet-as-can-be Genevieve arrived with her Mommy and two sisters, sporting her groovy sophisticated name and pink animal prints. (Daddy and her three older brothers stayed behind to hold down the fort! Yes, she’s the youngest of six — it’s against AP style, so I rarely use the word “currently,” but perhaps in this case I should insert it between “she’s” and “the” because Genevieve’s Mommy brings me a newborn every year or so!)

You nailed it again! I love all of them, especially the one of Sammy and her dangly earrings with Genevieve. Another job well done!
ACK! I want the ones with me and Eevee! I’ll frame them show them to everyone.
Beautiful photos. I love the one of the feet and the angle looking downward. Very nice. Cute baby!
I got a laugh at Sammy and Genevieve with their mouths wide-open…”silent scream”
You always do a great job with your subjects. All great pics—my favorites–Evee asleep on Trin’s shoulder and Evee yawning.
These are all adorable! Beautiful black & white imagery.
Nicholas is 10 days old in these images. His Mommy followed all of my directions to the letter — except for the part about sending an extra shirt for Daddy. !
But that’s okay because if she had, we wouldn’t have gotten Dad’s favorite shot of the day — he says it’s going in his office. I made sure to take lots of others, just in case Mom disagrees.![]()

Awesome shots!
I love the close ups of him!
Dad certainly got it good…I remember the first time I helped in church nursery, I was nuked in a very similar way!
Baby Charlie is here! It is truly an honor to be chosen by a family to document the most precious progression of a family of three moving to a family of four!

Christine,
Oh my goodness, these are so lovely! I adore the slide show, I cried!
You did such a beautiful job portraying our family. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
–Laura
You’re so welcome! It was my honor and pleasure, you have a beautiful family. Enjoy!
–Christine
This baby photo session is so sweet! I just love the selective color ones, great job!
I may be a little biased (I am one of their aunties after all), but the pictures are beautiful. You did a very nice job capturing the personalities of my sister, Paul and the kids. As I only get to see them when I travel to DC it is nice to have such beautiful photos. Lali and Paul made a gift of the family portrait before Charlie was born(the one that starts the slide show). Thanks from auntie.
you’re so welcome! thank you for sharing, it’s always wonderful to hear from Aunties! ![]()
–Christine
This is Evan, his seventh day in the world. His Mommy brought him to me for a newborn portrait…

…and then she brought him back with Daddy and Big Brother Charlie for a family portrait. For a nine-week-old, Evan has some amazing expressions and is incredibly strong. Both Charlie and Even are just plain cute.

Wow! These are great! We are going to have a hard
time making decisions!
You are very good at what you do. Thank you very much
for all the time and extra considerations you put into
our pictures.
I am amazed that I actually like a few of me! A
first!
Thank you so much…
Fantastic series. Been looking at all your sets; you’re a great photographer.
This is a terrific set of images. great job on the newborn and mom shots especially.
Frank
thank you!
nice job! I can’t believe you actually got a smile out of a seven day old!! What luck!
Love the close up. Feels like the baby is gonna speak!
Great Job!!! As always.
thank you all!
Flora, it’s so great to hear from you — I love it when those I’ve photographed come back to check in on my blog. I’ve met the most interesting and wonderful people in this job! As to Evan, I wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised if he would have asked for his Mommy. He’s an incredibly strong and expressive baby.
Kimberly, thank you! but in all fairness, I should clarify that it wasn’t until our second session, when he came back at 9 weeks with his family, that we got the smiles.
These are so beautiful, the baby is so alert, and don’t forget the big brother, what a cutie. Great job!
these are so precious!!
Christine,
Oh my gosh, these are the most precious pictures. I love coming to your blog. It makes me smile.
Hope all is well.

Joelle - FANTASTIC!! Especially love the one of all the boys giggling with just Caleb’s feet in the shot and the one at the beginning of Elijah on his back by himself with just a little grin — he looks like SUCH a Peterson boy there! What a lovely football team you’ve got, Jenny & Doug!
Jenny Peterson - Great Photos Christine!
Marsha - Congrats!!! He is a sweetie and appears to fit right in. Marsha
Gram Bertie - Such awesome photography! But then, with such handsome little boys who just happen to be my grandsons…what can I say? Doug & Jenny: You are fantastic parents and I’m very proud of you! P.S. Hang onto that photographer! She’s the best!
Martha - He’s beautiful! He has such a knowing look for a 1-week-old. I love the one where his hands are in his mouth. These are all awesome.
The Ishikawas - As his brothers are, Elijah is beautiful! Wonder how the “Gang” will love on him? It was a blessing to see Caleb and John love on Joshua when he was a newborn here in Okinawa.
Cinda - Fabulous, Jenny! He is absolutely gorgeous, and what great photos! Congratulations to you and your whole family!
Joyanna Wilson - These are really wonderful. They capture not only how beautiful the boys are but the spirit of the whole family.
Elijah is absolutely delicious!
Gram Marga - Four beautiful grandsons! Awesome photography, Christine. Thank you for capturing very precious moments of our family history. I especially like the one of Joshua suspended upside down.
Eilene Peterson - Uncle Doug and Aunt Jenny! Your boys are such little gems! I am sure some days they seem like little dinosaurs. But that little Elijah is such a precious sight for ones eyes! I rememeber holding joshua when he was just a wee little one and looking at elijah reminds me of holding joshua. There faces are so similer! Awww boy i miss yall sooooo incrediably much! I wish i could see yall soon! Love always Eilene
Mike n Mari L - Wow, the black and white photos are so “natural”. Hey how’s come the little guy didn’t have a shirt to match his big brothers?
)
The shots where they were up side down and at different angles is a fresh idea. Mike n Mari
Amy Martin - Congrats! He is gorgeous! These pictures are adorable!
Serina Peterson -
Sweet pictures Jenny! Got your hands full for sure. They are so darn cute. Just can’t get over all the red hair. Hope you guys are doing good and just let me know if you need anything.
Tammy Peterson - Your boys as so precious. These pictures are amazing. Oh how I wish I could snuggle and play with these special little boys. We are truely blessed to have these little boys in our family.
Uncle Jeff - Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to seeing the “real thing” at Christmas.
Aunt Marzella - Hey Jenny & Doug, Fantastic pictures of your God given boys! Thanks for sharing A real neat way to “meet” Elijah until we can meet in person.
I can’t pick a favorite shot but I really like the last one where he’s sleeping with his right fist poised just in case a big brother decides to pester during his nap.
I’m sure naps are rare but precious occurances in the Petterson household these days! Love to all…
heather - BEAUTIFUL! Elijah is a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e. Jon Jon and Joshua look SO BIG (and so much alike). Caleb is as cute as ever. Thanks for sharing!! Wishing you lots of happiness!!
Na - I love the one where he is yawning!
Kelly & Rob - These are simply gorgeous photos, and they’ve captured a lovely range of emotions.
All of your boys are just beautiful!
We hope the 6 of you are doing well.
Have a safe & wonderful holiday season!
