Here’s my workflow for kids: first get the photos Mom wants; then get the orthodox photos for grandparents; then get the unorthodox photos for my portfolio; then get the best funny-face photo for the kids.
This is my second Christmas photographing Catherine, Anthony and Olivia, and they remembered to come prepared with their best funny faces — but not before they gave me some smashing portfolio images. (And hopefully some for Mom and Grandmas, too!)
